Some problems can easily be solved with some simple steps found in the literature included with your original purchase. Everybody forgets simple things sometimes. Often the simplest solution is last one that might occur to somebody.

Where is my model or serial number located?
Washing Machine: The model and serial numbers can be located at one of these locations:

Underneath the lid

On the back at the top left corner

Back of the control panel

Inside right corner of the lid

Lower left corner on the front of the unit

On the inside of the door, lower left corner
Air Conditioners: The model and serial numbers can be located at one of these locations:

In the cool air exhaust vent at the top

On the frame behind the front grill

Side of the unit
-
Upper right-hand corner of the weather barrier with grill removed

Bottom section of the control panel with grill removed

At the weather barrier to the left of the fan opening
Microwaves: The model and serial numbers can be located at one of
these locations:

Behind the door on the front edge of the microwave

On the left side of the control panel, with the door opened

Inside the microwave, on the left side of the cavity

On the back of the unit
Dryer: The model and serial numbers can be found at the following locations:

On the cabinet's frame. You will have to open the door to see it.

On the upper left corner of the back of the unit

On the cabinet's side, near the front.
Refridgerator: The model and serial numbers can be located at the following locations:

Behind the "kick plate" at the bottom of the unit

Inside wall, refrigerator or freezer area

The door jamb of the cabinet
Range: The model and serial numbers can be found in the following places:

Upper left hand corner of the cabinet with the door open

Outside bottom of the cabinet

Lower left hand corner of the cabinet on the inside

Underneath a burner, if the top lifts up

Lower drawer door jamb with the drawer open

Underneath the fuse cover at the top of the unit
Electronics: On almost all electronics, be it televisions, stereo systems, etc. the model and serial numbers can almost always be easily located on a sticker on the back of the unit.
